Comparison Shopping

Comparison shopping is a must as a way to get the most for your money.  In this technological age, the internet has made comparison shopping easier than ever, both in getting the best deals in the least amount of time.

The best starting place is Consumer Reports.  They have done all the hard research to come up with the best products for the lowest price.  You can go online and pay a fee to belong to Consumer Reports or access it free through your local library.  Once you determine the product brand that you feel is the best for you, then you go to part two, which is where to find the best price for that particular item.

You can research the best price through what is known as Comparison Shopping Websites.  Some of the better sites are pricegrabber.com; yahooshipping.com; buy.com; and shopzilla.com.  A word of caution, sometimes the sites makes their living by giving merchants prominent positions in search results.  For that reason always resort the list of product by price.
 

Another way to search results is to go to Google and type in the product brand that you want and then search various businesses for the price.  Don’t forget that Craigslist can be a great place to do comparison shopping as well.  Of course there are always cautions when you using Craigslist.
 

One other suggestion is to go to the website, retailmenot.com which offers on line coupons for various products.  For example, if you know what brand of television you are going to buy and what store you will purchase it at, then seeing if there is an online coupon before purchasing can save you even more money.
 

Comparison shopping does take time, but the payoff can be a great product for the least amount of money.
